  • 1992: Dongfeng Citroen Auto Co., Ltd. was founded in Wuhan on May 18. The first Citroen "Fukang," derived from Citroen ZX, was assembled in Xiangfan (now called "Xiangyang") in September as trial production started.
  • 1993: Started constructing plant in Wuhan in February and in Xiangfan in October.
  • 1996: Opened engine plant in Xiangfan in April.
  • 1998: Citroen Fukang 988 rolled off the line in September.
  • 2000: Citroen Fukang AX was released on August 16, Fukang ES on September 15.
  • 2001: China-made Citroen Xsara Picasso went on sale in October.
  • 2002: Citroen C-Elysee went on sale in June.
  • 2003: DPCA (Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen, or, Dongfeng-PSA) was founded on January 23. Annual sales reached 100,099.
  • 2004: Dongfeng Peugeot 307 was released in June.
  • 2005: Annual sales topped 140,000.
  • 2006: Rolled out the first Peugeot 206 on January 19, and Citroen Triomphe on April 28. Citroen C2 was launched on October 11. Ground was broken for DPCA’s second plant in Wuhan on October 27 in a ceremony attended by the French president Chirac.
  • 2009: Construction of DPCA’s second plant was completed, increasing the company’s production capacity to 450,000 units per year.
  • 2010: Dongfeng Citroen C5 and Peugeot 408 hit showrooms in January.
  • 2011: Started constructing new engine plant in Xiangyang on March 10; by 2015, DPCA would have an annual production capacity of 1.2 million engines and 5.4 million transmissions in the city. Ground was broken on May 18 for DPCA’s third plant, designed to roll out 300,000 vehicles a year. Dongfeng Peugeot 508 was released on July 10, Peugeot 308 in October.
  • 2012: Dongfeng Citroen C4L went on sale on December 5.
  • 2013: Dongfeng Peugeot 3008 was released on January 9. DPCA’s third plant (Phase I) opened on July 2, rolling out the re-designed Citroen C-Elysee.
