  • 1964: Hefei Jianghuai Auto Works was established on basis of Chaohu Auto Parts.
  • 1968: Rolled out the first Jianghuai-brand truck.
  • 1990: Zuo Yan’an became the head of Jianghuai Auto on May 20, starting a phase of rapid growth.
  • 1993: Annual vehicle sales reached 12,000.
  • 1996: First HFC1061 light-duty truck rolled off the production line on April 18.
  • 1997: Jianghuai Auto Group Co., Ltd. (JAC) was founded on May 18.
  • 2001: Signed agreement with Hyundai on March 16, acquiring the technology for building the H1 MPV in China. Became listed in Shanghai on August 24.
  • 2002: JAC Refine, derived from Hyundai H1, rolled off the line on March 18.
  • 2003: JAC Gallop heavy-duty truck rolled off the line on October 28.
  • 2005: Opened design office in Italy.
  • 2006: Opened design office in Japan. JAC Rein SUV, derived from Hyundai Santa Fe, was launched in July at the Guangzhou motor show.
  • 2008: Began volume production of the first JAC sedan, the J7 (Binyue) in January. JAC J3 went on sale in September.
  • 2009: Signed agreement with NC2 Global LLC in September on jointly building medium- and heavy-duty trucks. JAC J5 and J6 were released in October.
  • 2010: Signed agreement with Navistar in September on jointly building diesel engines. Released the Sunray MPV and J2 (Yueyue) mini car in December.
  • 2011: JAC cars went on sale in Brazil.
  • 2012: Delivered 500 units of "iev" (second-gen J3 EV) in September. Launched "Refine+Heyue" dual-brand strategy in November for its passenger car division; ground broken for JAC plant in Brazil in the same month.
  • 2013: In March, JAC Refine S5 SUV was released. Signed contract in the next month to export 2,000 "iEVs" (J3 EVs) to the US.
