  • 2007: Agreement was signed between Chery and Quantum LLC (a subsidiary of Israel Corp.) in May on establishing Chery Quantum Automotive Co., Ltd. The joint venture was approved by China’s National Development and Reform Commission on December 11; with an investment of 7.36 billion Yuan, a plant in Wuhu, Anhui, would be built with a designed annual production capacity of 150,000 cars a year. Chery would have a 55% stake in it, Quantum 45%.
  • 2008: Chery Quantum Automotive Co., Ltd. was officially established in the Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Area in February.
  • 2009: Israel Corp. announced in June that its stake in Chery Quantum was raised to 50%.
  • 2011: The National Development and Reform Commission announced in May that it had approved the relocation of the planned Chery-Quantum plant from Wuhu, Anhui, to Changshu, Jiangsu. On November 28, Chery Quantum was renamed "Qoros Automotive Co., Ltd.;" the brand "Qoros" was launched.
  • 2012: Qoros unveiled three models at the Geneva motor show in March: Qoros 3 seda, Cross Hybrid, and Estate. The first Qoros dealership was opened in Slovakia on September 6. The Dutch company Autobinck

    was selected to be the first European importer of Qoros cars.
